Our Story

Where the Hills slow everything down

Rio Vista Resorts sits on a quiet ridge above Saputara — a working balance of forest, mist and hospitality, three generations in the making.

How We Started

A family plot, a forest view, and no rush to change either

Rio Vista began as a family’s weekend retreat on a forested ridge outside Saputara — long before Saputara was Gujarat’s hill-station getaway. What started as a handful of rooms for visiting relatives slowly opened its doors to travellers who found the same thing we did: a kind of quiet that’s hard to manufacture and easy to lose if you build carelessly.

We’ve grown since — a proper kitchen, a pool, rooms built for families and for groups — but the instinct hasn’t changed. Every addition to the property gets measured against one question: does this make a guest’s stay calmer, or just bigger?

“We never wanted to be the biggest resort on the hill — just the one guests think about the moment they need to slow down again.”

Founder & Managing Director, Rio Vista Resorts

What We Hold Onto

Our Values

Nature, Left Alone

We built around the existing tree line rather than clearing it — the forest was here first, and it shows in every window.

Hospitality, Not Performance

Our team is small by design, so every guest is a name and a preference remembered, not a room number.

Food Worth the Table

Regional recipes, local produce and a kitchen that changes the menu with the season, not a laminated card.

Slowness as a Feature

No pressure to fill every hour — the itinerary is optional, the hammock is not.
